Just for security reasons?? -->

default mode in nl-filesys.c: for (make-dir)  0700 instead of 0777..



(mode = 0777; /* drwxrwxrwx  get masked to drwxr-xr-x on most UNIX */)



perhaps a remark in the manual on this too?
