Title: Russian introduction for programmers

After a year with newLISP I have written an introduction to it for Russian programmers.

The main goal is to show the fun of newLISP (and whole LISPs) versus traditional procedural and OOP languages.

This isn't a complete manual – only the most attractive language's features are shown here.

Hey Dmitri - good work! Great to see another addition to the documentation set! I have been browsing through it, using a computer-translator (at worldlingo.com). The translation isn't very good, but I have at least been able to appreciate the style and presentation, if not the actual writing.



One day, an English translation, perhaps? ;-)

Unfortunatenly, my English isn't very good. If somebody is interested in this translation, I can to translate. But, finally, this will need a lot of work for english corrector volunteer.

Hello, friends !



I just entered this community, and want to help it somehow.



The "somehow" means:





1) I'd like to translate the whole newLisp documentation (including tcl/tk) into Great and Powerfull Russian language.

2) If it is possible, maybe it is usefull to place russian version on the main page of newLisp.

2.1) For it i have to talk with administrator ot the main site (i didnt find any mail adress if newlisp.org, wich could connect me with important people)

3) Maybe, if newLisp's Wiki website system could do this - create a parallel russian version of site.



I had a lot of friends, who like lisp, but cant go into newLisp because of their poor knowlege in English.



If anyone wish to help - it'll be cool, you can write here, or on my email.



So, now i'll go for it...

I've heard of Slashdotting and Instalanches, this wouldn't be the first instance of a site being nLFClubbed, would it?

I suggest not to waste too much time on the newLISP-tk docs, as we will have a new GUI based library with a newLISP API module during next week (development version 9.1.7)

I suggest you roll your own site and I can link to it. You could use the newLISP wiki software also used for newlisp.org:

You could also contact Dmitry (DMI on this board), he has written a Russian  introduction to newLISP and is probably a contact for many other Russian users. He also maintains the Debian release of newLISP.

I'll think about it, but i havn't a lot of free time, and supplying of site will be hard to me. Maximum - is to build it, and find somebody to play role of an administrator...



In any case, ill informate community about my site, if it will be. :)

I can reasonable quickly offer a virtual site/personal page/cluster in a wiki.
