It's time to begin a collection of the mottos applied to newLISP. Let's start with the original:

Quote from: "?""Puts the fun back in LISP."

Who was the first to say this?

What follows is a quick gleaning of the club's recent posts for anything even resembling a motto.

Quote from: "Peter""newLISP, the best programming language on earth."

Quote from: "cormullion""newLISP: Easier than you thought it was going to be, given that it has "Lisp" in its name!"

Quote from: "m i c h a e l""newLISP follows the principle of surprisingly easy."

Quote from: "cormullion""newLISP: Not as surprising as you thought!"

Quote from: "cormullion""newLISP: Prepare not to be astonished."

Quote from: "Peter""Just stop thinking and let newLISP do the talking."

Quote from: "cormullion""newLISP: Easier than it looks, even though it looks easier than you thought it looked!"

Quote from: "Peter""newLISP resembles the art of meditation."

Quote from: "m i c h a e l""The power of LISP, the fun of Ruby."

Quote from: "Norman""newLISP is not even that bad at all."

Quote from: "camperman""newLISP Just Worked. Out of the box. First time."

Quote from: "m i c h a e l""newLISP for world peace!"

Quote from: "cormullion""newLISP: We have three weapons: easiness and surprise!"

We're on our way to "Most mottoed language in history." Hey, that's another motto!

Don't be shy about adding your own magnificent mottos or combing the club's posts for others. We have a long way to go till we reach 101! What happens if we have more than 101? Or we don't get to 101? Don't ask.

QuoteA Lisp that doesn't suck

Actually this is a devious allusion to a quote from some guy called Paul Graham, "The good news is, it's not Lisp that sucks, but Common Lisp." http://www.paulgraham.com/popular.html">//http://www.paulgraham.com/popular.html and wouldn't he just hate to be (mis)quoted here! ;-)

and it's also a bit of a steal from BareBones Software, the makers of BBEdit...

Quote from: "cormullion"14... (or should I be counting from 0?)

Perhaps you meant "(or shouldn't I be counting from 0?)", since "A Lisp that doesn't suck" makes 15? ;-)

Without counting Jeremy's motto (as he admits, not newLISP-specific) we have a grand total of 22 (unverified) mottos about newLISP! Almost one quarter of the way there already. Need to go think of another one . . .
